Sister Superior Miriya of the Adepta Sororitas is charged with returning the psyker Torris Vaun to Neva. Her squad fail, one dies, Vaun escapes. Desperate to regain honour, she reluctantly joins with Sister-Hospitaller Verity to hunt down the psyker, whose plans involve much more than murder and mayhem. But there is someone else, something even darker in the shadows, manipulating Vaun, Miriya and an entire planet.
Faith And Fire is a solid story, though Swallow's prose aren't a match for Abnett's Ghost novels. The story barrels along, the characters never quite feeling fleshed out but the plot twisting and turning right up to the explosive finale.
