This was the first site I built using Karelia's Sandvox so I thought I'd say a few words about how the application has developed over the past ten months.
Sandvox is still getting better but has grown in to a genuinely interesting piece of software. The ease of use has improved and the finished sites work really well. There are still some kinks to work out; I've had particular problems with including AdSense ads and very large photo albums can raise some issues. Overall, though, I've found it a great way to quickly and easily develop attractive sites. It's particularly useful for blogs and other sites that are regularly updated and require a lot of interlinking.
That's not to say I only use Sandvox. I still hand code in skEdit and I use CyberDuck even with Sandvox sites (Sandvox doesn't alway tidy up after itself when republishing an existing site). For graphics, I use PhotoLine as a Photoshop replacement with a little help from GIMPShop when necessary. Actually, for resizing photos for the cardmaking and papermodel galleries, I still use HBImageProcessor -- an old OSX app but quick and easy.
I wouldn't use Sandvox for the info sites I develop for mandytonks.net or their own domains but for personal sites, particularly for the photo galleries and blog-type sites, Sandvox is highly recommended.
