I've just created a fan site dedicated to the late Peter Allen. Yes, my name is Mandy and I love 70s and 80s pop :-) Actually, I came to Allen's music via the musical The Boy From Oz, though I've been amazed by how many of his songs I already knew.
I'm hosting the site on one of Freeola's domains (see my previous post for more on Freeola's hosting options), at musicfans.co.uk. It's a great way to host your site on a relevant domain without having to register one yourself.
I used Sandvox to create the site itself. I hadn't planned to use SV for sites that would include AdSense because it used to be a bit picky about whether the ads actually showed up. That seems to have been sorted out, though, and (almost always) the ads work fine. I use the Edit Raw HTML option in SV a lot but it's proving much easier than handcoding the whole site; just having the structure taken care of automatically really saves time.
I set up an Amazon UK aStore to link to but had some problems with the US version so I'll have to have another go at that some time soon.
