Thought I'd mention Brightshotz photographers as they took some family photos for my Mother's birthday pressie. She's wanted a family portrait done for a while and this was a special birthday so it seemed like a special present.
I googled for local photographers and, largely based on the web site, decided to go with Brightshotz. You'd be amazed how few photographers actually put examples of their work on their sites! And how few respond in a timely and pleasant manner when you email them. Brightshotz has plenty of examples online and Emma was lovely, via email and in person. We finally got organised and arranged the sitting about six months after Ma's birthday. We had a great time, it was a lot of fun -- no mean feat with five people who don't really like having their photos taken!
We thought there would be a delay before the pictures were on the web site for us to view (privately) but they were ready the next day. Of course we couldn't decide which photos we wanted so went for their "whole photo shoot on a CD" option, plus the three mounted photos that had been included in the package we originally bought for Ma.
It took a few days for the photos and CD to be ready but we were very pleased with the results. They are lovely pictures and a good selection of poses and shots. The pictures of my parents are particularly nice.
I uploaded all of the pictures to PhotoBox and we had dozens of prints done (more than one Xmas present was sorted out that way). The order took a bit longer than I expected but the quality from PhotoBox is always good. I also had a collage print and a couple of notebooks made up with the photos. These extras are easy to design on the PB site and look good; a bit different, though a little bit on the expensive side too.
All-in-all, we're really pleased with the photos and the prints and we would certainly recommend Brightshotz to anyone looking for portrait photographers in the Nuneaton area. I think they tend to work with young families and kids but we can vouch for them when it comes to the old ones too!
